Summary & Notes: Blair's entanglement with the daughter of a Mafioso has tragic results. This story is told in 4 sections, starting with "Overboard," written as a normal fic and functioning as a prequel to "Into the Ocean," a songfic showing a very hurt Blair. "The Guardian," titled to give readers the sense of the Coast Guard making a rescue, also written as a normal fic, functions as the entire story's epilogue. "The Guardian" is intended to provide closure and comfort -- hopefully lots and lots of comfort. Lastly, 2AM is a filk originally written to counter Blair's "Into the Ocean" songfic with something told from Jim's POV.
